Fresh Tomatoes and Fresh Mozzarella...Yum!

On Saturday we celebrated our One Year Anniversary at cordell's.  (A future post will contain more information about the celebration.)  In honor of our first year, Chef Joel Trueblood, owner/chef at Bonterra Blu, brought us a lovely and very sweet present.  He brought us a basket that contained fresh mozzarella, fresh heirloom tomatoes, basil, squash blossoms, a garlic bloom and roses.  As you can see below, it is extremely nice.

The basket presentation is beautiful.

We used the tomatoes, mozzarella and basil to make a wonderful Caprese salad.  We managed to find some high quality olive oil and balsamic :-) and got busy.  We used our Cobrancosa Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Portugal and our Traditional Balsamic from Modena, Italy.  We threw in some fresh cracked pepper and sea salt and were in business.

Thanks Joel, it was wonderful!
